You should be able to obtain a temporary hardship leave - most likely under supervision, mind you - to make at least a brief visit. That's assuming you're not a mass murderer or something, but then you probably wouldn't have Internet privileges. The less heinous your offense and the better you behave, the better your chances of getting cooperation.
Wouldn't know who to make the petition to, but there has to be a social worker type person somewhere; failing that, asking the Chaplain is a good suggestion.

You're not in jail. You're sitting at a computer. I don't know any jails that let you sit on the computer playing on Yahoo Answers. Maybe your dad's not in the hospital, he's just at home.

well if you are in jail and on the internet then you must have one hell of a lenient jail system ! If they will give you internet access... then surely you can get visiting priveldges for a dying loved one.. If not then just do an INTERNET SEARCH FOR ESCAPE PLAN...........you are sure to find some ideas..

It all depends on what state your in. Most states do allow for family emergency furlows. You must send a request in writing usually to the warden. I have a friend who was let out for a weekend when his dad was sick. They put an ankle monitor on him.
Not sure how your on the internet if your in jail though.

Unfortunately, probally not. I don't know why you are in jail or what kind of jail it is, but perhaps if you talk to the warden or ask to see a social worker, they can answer your question for you.

Contact your lawyer, I hope you will use this experience to help you in the future.. Do not think for a second that your father will be mad at you if you cannot make it.. He will see you from beyond and he will be with you as you start your new life on a new path.. His happiness lies with your redemption.. Use him as your spirit, your guide on your new life, my prayers are with both him and you, An ex-con gone straight..

Its probably due to your idiotic antics that put him there I hope you feel proud of yourself. God alone knows what all he did for you and you go out and get yourself arrested. I hope you rot there.
I am not sure they should even allow you on a computer, you should have a punishment of being corn holed repeatedly by your new boyfriend.
