I guess giving France a pk that wasn't even close to being a foul isn't loose enough. Or, taking away an italian goal that was clearly a goal is too loose on italy. Or having refs loose their job because they throw out Totti in the South Korea game in 2002 is to loose. Or not giving Portugal a PK in the semi final but instead one to France is too loose on Italy. Or not losing 25 straight games...that must be FIFA being too loose on Italy. I guess you can get lucky for 25 straight games. Oh, and by the way...what should FIFA do to punish Zidane. After all, Materazzi was assaulted by him and could sue him. I don't see any clear evidence stating what Materazzi said. Just French organizations making claims.

I would strip him of his gold medal that he received from the team winning the Cup. Then I would have him suspended from play for at least 6 months without pay. FIFA needs to cut down on players, coaches, refs, and fans saying offensive comments. Mental games are part of the game, however, there are ways to do it and then there is Mettarazi's way and well, we all say what that leads to.

I think the whole TEAM should be punished for allowing one of their teammates to do something like that to Zidane. And where was Cannavaro or whatever his name is; he's the captain and he should set an example for his teammates exactly what NOT to do during a game. But no, i dont think italians know their morals, no offense or anything... I love Italians to tell you the truth but i dont like their football team. I think that in football people lose their temper. like in germany versus Argentina, you can't really blame Frings... anyway, i think that Mattarazzi and his team should be suspended from football at least for a while or at least be suspended of the medal/trophy cuz italy DID NOT and i repeat DID NOT deserve it at ALL. Why is it that the refs always seem to be so loose on italy and so harsh on everyone else?

Not only Materazzi, but all the players and the coach of Italy also should be banned for life. It was part of their strategy to destroy the rhythm of France in this way. In this strategy Buffon took the main role and he actually started it. In another way Italy wangled the penalty against Australia. Think of the match-fixing scadal in Italy! If FIFA fails to take suitable action in time, racism in football will cloud the future of world football.

Why punish Materrazi ? What did he do ? Whoa whoa , so it's like : I headbutt someone , and that someone will be punished for unknown reason ? And my supporters are backing me with so many reasons , ie : I was insulted by racism comments , I was being disrepected , that guy said dirty stuffs about my family ... so I have the right to headbutt him .
