In who's opinion?

I don't know much about him. But, from what I've read and heard, he was able to connect to parts of the mind that most people never can (mainly the 90% of unused brain power). This would obviously give him more insight into things most people cannot even comprehend.

Even when I was younger I had many visions that really freaked me out. But modern stresses make it almost impossible to connect with them, again. Many people experience de-ja-vue. And I think a lot of those occurances are the realizations of past visions.

Buddha may have been a great philospher, but I think the greatest has yet to be discovered. Descartes was also great. I think the greatest would be the most willing to share in the things he/she has envisioned or experienced and hypothesized over. I think Buddha kept many secrets from the world, as well as many other philospohers have, and probably will continue to do. I wouldn't share all of my visions, for various reasons, either.

Who claims the that Buddha, was the greatest. Why does there always have to be the greatest in every area of life. Ex. The Greatest Movie, the greatest baseball player. can't the greatest simply be the greatest to that person, and not an arguement.

Buddha was the greatest non-philosopher. He eliminated all of mans needs to explain and control and predict everything. He reduced existence to no thought, no desire, just being.
Buddha was the opposite of a philosopher.

Buddha is not a great philosopher, but rather a statue. Nothing more. Just a big statue made by man. Try picking up the Bible and reading it. There you will find Greatness. And also your salvation (Acts 2:38).

Buddha was actually one of the poorest philosophers of all time. His insight was to EXPERIENCE the truth, not to think about it.
