No you don't put your trust in man except for God. Now remember God came in 3 forms. God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit. God made himself look like man because when he came he came as God the Son-Jesus. That's why and you should read your bible a little more for more Knowledge & Understanding.

FIRST OFF, GOD MADE MAN THAT LOOKED LIKE HIM. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. SECONDLY, MAN CAN BE TRUSTED.....JESUS WAS THE PERFECT MAN. JESUS IS OUR ULTIMATE POTENTIAL. A MAN WITH A BODY, SOUL, MIND AND THE POTENTIAL TO BE PERFECT.....WITHOUT FLAW AND WITHOUT SIN. BEFORE ADAM AND EVE RUINED IT FOR MANKIND, WE WERE BORN SINLESS AND WERE ESSENTIALLY WHO JESUS WAS. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR JESUS AT THAT POINT....MAN WAS PERFECT AND INNOCENT, ONLY AFTER DISOBEYING GOD AND SINNING DID WE BECOME SINNERS. NOW EVERY GENERATION OF OUR CHILDREN ARE BORN INTO SIN AND MUST BE REDEEMED THROUGH OUR SAVIOR CHRIST JESUS. IF OUR FULL POTENTIAL IS JESUS, WHO WAS PERFECT AND COMPLETELY TRUSTWORTHY, WHY IS MAN NOT TRUST WORTHY? HE IS, JUST DON'T TRUST THE WRONG ONE. LOOK AT KEY CHRISTIAN FIGURES SUCH AS THE POPE JOHN PAUL II, MOTHER THERESA, MARTIN LUTHER KING.....WERE THEY PERFECT PEOPLE, NO, BUT ARE THEY WORTHY OF TRUST ABSOLUTELY! ACTUALLY, THEY COULD BE CONSIDERED MODERN DAY SAINTS........HAVE A NICE DAY!

dear, it is we humans that have given a form to god. god is an attribute less entity / energy. since abstract things are difficult to perceive by a common man, people give names and forms to god. Hindus worship hundreds of gods. that is becoz hundreds of people have hundreds of perceptions and the merciful God can appear in any form that the devotee wishes to perceive Him/Her so that there can be a close affiliation between the two. Hindus have deities that are both male and female forms and they even have an "ardha naareeshwara" wherein it is half male and half female form which is an indication of both masculinity and femininity that are present in any human being and the perfect balance of both makes a perfect human being who is well adjusted to the world.

A person can have God all around and never see God.
Then, that person meets with a person that say's "I am God."
Suddenly that person realizes how often he/she has overlooked God all around him/her.
But the real answer to your question is because God cared enough to show man a path to God.

Jesus was tempted in all ways as we were today, the difference was though that he never gave in to sin. That you can put your trust in.
