he's trying to refrain from provoking violence. North Korea has troops positoned within miles of South Korea's capitol city. If they decided that they wanted to attack them, it would be a bloodbath.

Because Saddam had put out a contract for a hit on Daddy in 1991 and one of the first things Bush said when he went into office - long before 9/11 - was that he was going to remove Saddam from power. Kim Il Jung is a fool like Bush which means eventually they'll kiss and make up. Iraq was a vendetta - there's been no threats against Daddy from No. Korea.

He is treating North Korea like Iraq was treated in the beginning. Diplomacy, etc. Hussein had plenty of time to play nice, he just didn't. Plus, I think N. Korea lacks the capability that Hussein was thought to have, or did have. As the threat grows, so will out reaction.
Also, I think that the government does alot of stuff that is not on the nightly news..and for good reason. They can't broadcast everything they do, there are tv's in North Korea too... ;)

Because he is a moron.

I am a Bush backer for the most part, but he got this one wrong. He never should have been mucking around in Iraq when North Korea and Iran are the real WMD dealers.

Because he knows that North Korea actually has the capability of posing a threat to us, while he knew that at least HE wouldn't have anything to worry about when going into Iraq.

because he has not been able to steal enough oil out of iraq, to pay the cost of bombing north korea,he has to make a profit,as america is going bust, soon there will be a knew world leader, maybe then the world can live in peace, when we finnally get rid of the amercian war mongers, thats how amercia has made it wealth for many hundreads of years war war and more war, thats why they start onther when they have money problems, because they make money from them, never be fooled by them saying they are there for the people, they have only ever been interested in themselves, you just cant belive them, long live the day when amercia falls and we get a knew world order with amercia at the botton not the top where they placed themselves,no one had a say in this they just apointed themselves.

Easy. North Korea is a credible threat. There was no credible threat in Iraq, and Bush knew it. He was interested in removing Saddam because of his interest in big oil. A lot of Bush's wealth is tied up in oil. A lot of Bush's friends' wealth is tied up in oil.

They have nukes. 5th largest army in the world.

China won't like it very much if we invaded N. Korea, and China pretty much tells us what to do. (just shop at Walmart)

We don't want to mess with China. Same reason we still don't offically recognize Taiwan a democratic nation, because China would get crazy on us.

Oil is important, but so is cheap labor to keep our trade deficit economy chugging along.
