Well, the Roman/Byzantine empire lasted a long time, as did many early Chinese and Japanese dynasties. The Mongols seemed to take over everywhere at least once, and Greece was sort of the world superpower before Rome came along. Egypt has been around forever too.

Despite all that, I really do think that the most powerful nation in the history of mankind is the U.S. All the other countries know us, we have the most money, and we have the most guns. While most of this is due to technology, the fact is our fame (or infamy) and our weapons make us more powerful than any other group of people in history.

Of course, our status is fleeting. I am positive another nation will rise - more powerful than even us. China is the most likely canidate, although India may take China's spot sometime in the distant future.

The most powerful would probably be the regime that influenced most the evolution of the modern world. Probably the Mongols under Genghis Khan.

The modern power of the U.S. is dampened by its consumption rate. So what if the U.S. can destroy the world with bombs? We are destroying our own country by consuming it. Like too many rats, the U.S. is eating itself and globalizing the world to become rats, too. The fleeting 20th century of growth-based profits will end even faster than the Roman Empire did, and will destroy many more people simply because of the scale of it. The end result will be a footnote in future history saying "The Oil Age ended badly when the great wealth of the United States was moved outside the country via premeditated planning of central banks and corporations. Deflation and depression in the economy built on service and fiat value of money caused the deaths of at least 100 million people."

Without investigation I would surmise the Black nation (which includes: The Africa's, Jamaicans, Haitians etc.). I could be wrong but just from reading honest, truth-told historical facts...they pan out has having the strongest allegiances throughout history.

Especially now that paleontologists, scientists etc. have conclusively discovered that the Garden of Eden existed in Africa. And that biologically man's beginning began with the Dark Continent.

It has been revealed that the oldest geological remains stem from the Black ancestry. So I would presume that historically power by means of: 1) brute strength, 2) knowledge, 3) economy, 4) survival, & 5) human proclivity(?).

Peace Out.

The United States of America, because:

1.) Money is power, America has the highest per-capita income in the world.
2.) Our modern military is unmatched in terms of combat power and staying power, and projectability (with proper political guidance, of course)
3.) We have the nuclear capability to destroy the planet roughly a dozen times over.
a.) furthermore, we are developing the capability to stop other nuclear powers from effectively using their nuclear weapons.

Never before in all of history has a nation had the ability to kill every living creature on the planet. Now THAT'S power.

Power is an illusion. But, years wise, I think China, or maybe Egypt (4000 yrs). USA is relatively short-lived, historically speaking. Rome was around for quite a while, too. What do you mean by power? The power to positively shape lives, the power to control, monetary presence, the power to survive at all costs?? Eventually, **it happens, and all that power disappears. For example, Egypt and the Hyksos, Rome and the barbarians. Fragments remain for those who follow to consume or dispose of.

What ?! Measured by "powerometer" ? In what point of view?
There is no super nation, as long as we do not specify is it a knowledge, economy, military power, or else. Powerful nations are not once forever. They have their best periods, but looking throw the centuries, it is a short moment for all. Particularly speaking of kingdoms, not nations. So, that is my way.

Ancient Turkish Empire. Used to know what they were called but they took over most of the known world at one point in history. Quite amazing. Of course there is also Rome and Greece, but they fell a bit hard.

convinced, I surely were doing my relations tree and relations heritage and function over 2,900 names listed so a ways, and many extra i'd be putting on the record quickly. I surely have a princess on one in all my distant lines. also, the relations in Tasmania is a nicely accepted Fishing market relations (yet I stay in Melbourne and function little to no contact with my Tasmanian section). I surely have got here across that oral relations heritage regularly does no longer experience the data. that's part of the Oral heritage that the first of my line (relations call) that got here to Australia became a buccaneer off the Madagascan Coast who owned 2 ships and who became stuck by the Royal military and given the alternative -- flow to Van Diemans Land (Tasmania, Australia) or carry by the yardarm. certainly he chosen to stay and went to Tasmania. in truth that he became quite a convict transported for robbery. I surely have countless convicts in my tree. that similar man or woman, Richard, married two times. 2 of his babies (a son and a daughter) married the brother and sister of his 2d spouse. SO, he had a sister-in-regulation who became also his daughter-in-regulation and a brother-in-regulation who became his son-in-regulation. a similar relations names keep performing in the marriages on countless activities with marriages of 2d cousins or 2d aunt/uncles etc. It has grow to be slightly puzzling determining the precise relationships at situations. It became elementary for individuals to have many babies from 2 or 3 marriages so 18-22 babies is elementary. ladies married youthful, and that i have countless that married even as they were 13 and 14 (criminal and straightforward decrease back then) which may were around the time the ladies folk reached mensus.
