replace your stereo, sound card or whatever it is that they are hooked up to, since you have replaced the speakers already and the news don't work either, then it is obvious that whatever they are hooked into is what is not working.

You need to check if your sound cards are working properly.
Do the following to check the sound card :
Go to Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices. Select Hardware tab and then highlight the sound card that you have and then press Properties. It will tell you if the device is working properly. On the same window press the TroubleShooting tab to see common errors. It will guide u to debug. One more test you can do by selecting the Voice Tab in the main window and then
by pressing the Test Hard ware Button

Sometime it also happens that you plug you speaker in the wrong hole (i.e in the mike port, hope u havent done that. Check if your speaker is in not mute and you system is not in a mute audio mode).

It's probably not the speakers then - it's probably your sound card. In the device manager, make sure the sound card is recognized and it says that it's working properly (assuming you're using a Windows PC).

You can double-check your speakers by plugging them into a stereo or walkman headphone jack. If they work there, then you'll know it's not the speakers.

Make sure the jacks are going into the right ports. If that doesn't work, check to make sure your sound card is properly seated. Test your speakers using other computers. Try all that and you'll figure out what's wrong.

Maybe you have what happened to be a while ago: your speakers plug inside of the computer is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.
check if you joggle the plug with the speakers connector and see if it does any sound or not? If it does - there's your problem.

Check the sound card, delete drivers and put them back on. If that is not it then the port on the motherboard could be bad or something of the such.

I'm assuming you mean your computer speakers. Check your audio card drivers and delete them and reinstall them.
