I feel your pain. I guess that the majority of people are very opinionated and want to make sure their opinion is heard. We can't keep silent! We must one-up the stupid people who make ridiculous statements!

I think the best way to get over it, is to look at the leader board. Some of these people (or groups) must live here. Their numbers are so absurd, I think it will make you realize it should not be taken too seriously.
Put a limit on yourself. Promise you will only check in for x minutes a week.

A few days and you get bored quick. It goes from being on for 2-3 hours to 15 minutes.
