I don't think that it is common but it definitely is not impossible. It all depends on the condition of the person's heart and how well they take care of themselves. If a person sits around and takes in more calories of fatty foods and not exercises or do anything to burn off the calories it is possible that they get all sorts of health problems heart problems included. No matter how old they are.

Heart attack risk increases in males after the age of 45 and age 50 in Females, but that doesn't mean a 22 year old can't have a heart attack. It can happen to anyone at any age. There are many factors that cause heart attacks. General Health, Family history, etc. I posted some information on heart attacks in your other questions. Hope it can be of some help and I hope you aren't talking about yourself. Good luck to you and hope you are better soon if you are talking of yourself or of someone close to you. :)

It's very uncommon unless certain circumstances occured beforehand..if the 22-year-old was anorexic or bulemic or taking certain drugs, a heart attack is VERY likely because of the added strain that is put on the heart because of these conditions. If he/she was healthy and wasn't taking any drugs (prescription or illegal) then it would definitely depend on family history.

It can happen. One of the girls at the school where I work had a heart attack that killed her at age 12. Nothing is impossible.

It is not common, but it is possible under the right conditions. Heart attacks and strokes in the 20's are more common in drug abusers. (esp. cocaine)

Usually family history is more of a factor than age. My husband had one at 32. The doctor told him he could have eaten healthy and been in great shape, but with his family history it was inevitable.
