You could have more than one wife if your are Mormon. It called being a Polygamist. Practicing polygamy is against the law here, but it is basically ignored b/c thousands or people still practice it in the USA (In many states, not just Utah although most the Mormons are there, some live in CA, TX and so on.) A household would contain 1 man, multiple wives ranging from 2 -7 (or more) and all the children from the woman. Only the man would work, and usually these homes live off of gov't money!!

Legally in the U.S. you can't. Stupid, really. Seems to me that if all parties involved are ok with the new dynamic, nobody else should have the right to question it. I figure the part of the First Amendment that tells the government to stay out of my religion covers this. Unfortunately, most of society disagrees with me on this one.

In the US monogamy is the law, in Saudi Arabia poligamy is the law. So if you don't want more than one wife, US is the place to be. Need more than one? Go there.

do you have a lot of money to have several wives. if not don't even bother. move to a state or country that accepts this immoral practice. if i was going to marry a polygamist, he better be financially stable for kids, medical bills, food, shelter, college, the prom, cars, etc. do you see where i am getting at?
