well abercrombie has some really cute collared shirts that come in plain white and striped blue, so the white ones would work for you.
otherwise, i would suggest turning up the sleeves a little, popping the collar, and keeping the top button unbuttoned.
you could also wear like bright colored tanks underneath, like hot pink. maybe some necklaces/chains would look nice too.

Not lame at all. A chance to look great, I'd say. Get tapered, well-cut all-cotton shirts in fun colors. Roll up the sleeves a tad. French cuffs add some interest. Assuming you're just wearing the shirt, and nothing on top of that, you might get some ideas by looking at Jermyn Street shirtmakers' catalogs. You should should show that you can still dress in style no matter what the dress code maybe... Try unbuttoning the shirt and wear any color tank-top, and a belt that is the same color as the tank-top, and make sure that your shoes match the color of the tank-top and the belt.... Try that.....

You need to wear as much FLAIR as possible.
You COULD stop with 16 pieces of FLAIR if you want to do the bare minimum.
But ask yourself 'Am I the kind of person who only does the bare minimum?'

can you wear funky pants? maybe something with a neat pattern.. it'll balance the outfit. If not, just look classy and accessorize when possible.
