what is so wrong with hottopic? Gothic kids aren't poor, usually have better grades, and have more close-knit friends. They aren't concerned with what others think of them. Is that what makes us so much different than bubble headed preps? I mean, we look different, but that doesn't mean we are stupid, poor, or come from wrecked homes! Why is this sterotype placed upon us? and if you want to further contact me sammy_obnoxious@yahoo.com

I like Hot Topic and Designer Labels! :D And just because we like to dress in darker clothing doesn't mean it's any cheaper ^.^

Somtimes when we go aginist the so called norm we become a norm of our own... Instead of looking to another group to define ourselfs we should look inward and concentrate on our own indivisualisim. When I was a teen the last people I wanted to be associated with were the clicky preps... I started to hang with the burnouts and needless to say things didn't go quite well there.. This is where I learned it was all about me. Now it is not the goths, preps, jocks or burnouts I need to look for to find happiness within myself. I look to me, who I am, what I am about, that makes me happy. Good Luck, I hope you find what you are looking for.. Oh yeah, in the end I found that when I am outside myself, doing for others, that I am truly at my happiest.. Music may help you find your way, Also there is a book called, "THe Alchemist" the authors name alludes me right now, but this bok may be a life saver for you.. Good Luck, I am sure you will find what it is that you need.

My daughter loves HoTTopic and she is not gothic at all. I love the T-shirts there and I am an everyday corporate suit wearer. Be yourself, no matter what others say. One way is not better or right over any other. We are all individuals in the way we think and the way we dress. Dismiss those that do not accept you for who you are

I wouldn't say that gothic kids always have better grades, at least not the ones that I went to school with, some of them I use to be friends with until they gave me pot. That's when I decided that they probably are not the best people to be hanging out with, and sure enough, they got arrested this year. Maybe that is the stereotype, that they are potheads.

I like preppy clothes, I'm not a bubble head. I never thought of gothic kids to be poor, bad grades, etc, you came up with the idea!

Both are ******* retarted. They are taken to two different extremeties. You don't need to dress in big baggy black pants with chains hanging off, and you don't need those damn "distressed" jeans that are bleached and whatnot. The stereotype is placed upon you because you are outcast and nobody likes you except your 3-4 friends(call it "close knit" if you want).

Not everyhting you buy in Hot Topic is goth. HT all the way. Designer labels cost way too much, and I prefer band shirts and jeans or athletic shorts anyway.

nuthang is wrong with it. people just don't take time out of their "busy" lives to get to know someone who phsically seems different, but has just as many feelings and ideas as the average joe. i vote hottopic.
