But that would require intelligence, and seeing as how the average IQ of the Yahoo! Answers' population is around 30, I don't see that happening.

Some smart a*s answers can be humorous; but some of the questions are so off the wall they're just begging for attention.
Most of us answer as we think befits the question. Often we think the asker has to be joking.
Answers would be incredibly boring if everybody behaved just so
variety is the spice of life. Lighten up and enjoy.,

The intelligent answer would be that the anonymity of the Internet and of Yahoo answers allows people to "pick on" one another without much repercussion for their actions. There can be some insightful, lighthearted answers to some otherwise droll and mundane questions, but mostly these answer people just come off as annoying and tasteless.

It's the damn points system. Aren't you also tired of people who answer a question they don't like with, "haha i gotz me some 2 pts ya'll!" because they are retarded? I don't mind dumb questions, they're fun. But don't bring the dumb answers to the intelligent people who don't give a ****.

i'm in agreement with you because when you spend 5 points on sincerely seeking information, it really pi$$e$ me off too when people waste my time, but you know what? you can always report them for abuse in not answering the question.....if they're not too dense, after a few "reports", maybe they'll learn. good luck.

people do it to get points or because they're bored.
I agree it would be easier to pass a question up then to answer it poorly.

why is it so important for you to get approval from yahoo!answers community that you're 'intelligent'? is it because you can't get approval anywhere else? stop whining
