It can actually work with anything that someone is new at. and really Noob doesnt pertain to people who are new at something, its usually someone who tries to talk in leet or l337 (or however you do that crap) and is constantly flaming people (trying to start an argument by saying something really rude, racist, or just plain mean.) thats usually what a Noob does.

i will never understand the fact that people use the word "noob" in video games. it has always been that there are good people at video games, and then there are the new players, and the bad players. i find it amusing that the "good" players, who arent always that good, have to laugh and make fun of the newer and worse players, especially by calling them "noobs". every time i hear someone say that, i want to smack them. do you really feel that you have to point out every single mistake someone makes? or laugh at them for their gear if yours is better?

keep in mind, that new players dont stay new players, and bad players dont always stay bad players. the person you call a "noob" one day might be the guy who whups you the next. the multiplayer environment of modern video games are meant to foster an environment of friendship and even a sort of brotherhood, not one of childish cat-calling and weak put-downs.

i hope you take the lesson I intended in this answer, and realize how immature and stupid it is to use the word "noob", in any game.

I rarely play video games, but we bought 2 Playstation 3's for our house and I am completely obsessed with Call of Duty 4 Online. It's so awesome to play against people from all over the world.
