Since I earlier established that Shakira sounds JUST like a bleating goat when singing, can we presume she was actually raised by goats?

HEY TASA! I'm not only a Master guitarist, I also attended one of the best Conservatories in the world, the Cleveland Institue of Music. Yep. www.cim.edu- admissionis about 10% of those who apply , TY. I think you've lost your sense of humor?

ANAK : Having a false vibrato or one that is forced as Shakira's is is hardly unique. Well trained and beautiful vibrato IS a rarity. What Shakira does is to make the same error many do. It's a sign of poor singing, not uniqueness.

ok TASA - Since you're such a great vocalist, work with great musicians every day, and can judge not only me but ALSO Shakira without having heard either of us, as you state, please describe to our readers what constitutes a fine vibrato?
If you were a real musician, you would know that a degree from CIM DOES speak of great talent. You cannot get in without it, because unlike the Pop music world, CIM has standards.

MANDY- I never heard that story. I base my comparison to a goat to my actual hearing of "hips don't lie"

Hey Tasa- wow you sure make a lot of assumptions. I grew up playing rock and roll, then jazz rock, then learned bluegrass from one of my Classical teachers, and on the way studied jazz, reggae and etc. Yeah, sorry, your stereotyping of a classical musician failed. Oh , yeah I improvise - I learned that before I learned to read. Sounds like SOMEONE is a little threatened by all of this? Maybe you should try and learn from me instead of repeatedly sounding arrogant. But, naw, you're too arrogant. I couldn't teach you.

she was definitely raised by goats. if you look closely at some of her videos and pics she is actually eating grass and stealing washing off the clothesline to munch on.

I'm sorry -- you're probably a perfectly decent guy and a great musician...... although I still don't appreciate your particular brand of humor. Comparing a human being to a bleating goat just hit a raw nerve in me for some reason. I don't care if she's awful -- it just sounded really mean to say that. But I overreacted, and tried to cut you down and that wasn't nice either. So I apologize and wish you well...

Play on!

Goat did not come to mind when i heard it, actually it sounded like two male cats fighting for the love of a female cat..it sounded aweful, it goes to show you that if you have the looks you can sing even if ya can't carry a tune in a bucket

No... No goats... Actually she's half columbian half American.....

Her problem is she's trying to sing in a non native tounge she just learned a few years ago. So I find she hits a few of the high notes off key in English.....Try some of the spanish hits from Fijación Oral Vol. 1 off of radio.aol.com like "La Tortura" (Featuring Alejandro Sanz) that Shakira is actually doesn't haven't that problem in her native spanish.

I doubt it... I'm sure if one were raised by goats, they would exude goat-like tendencies, such as bleating, being able to climb and jump extremely well, a tendency to gnaw, and a fondness for shrubbery.
I'm sure no one has seen Shakira exhibit such behavior in pubic, but as for her behavior at home, we can only guess.
THUS, we cannot accurately presume that she was raised by goats, based on a lack of evidence.

got milk?

(And Tasa, you are a hypocrite....you just insulted him for insulting another. Shakira is just another blonde bimbo who got a recording contract for shaking her T&A. I suppose you think Jessica Simpson has talent too...or haven't you heard of her either? Get off your high horse.)

Isn't that song, where she says 'these hips don't lie' so gross? she really does sound like some deep voiced exotic south american mountain goat. she may have the mutated gene.
