toothpicks would be my choice, plus you can use them as an annoying weapon towards the idiots in your life. just a little jab here and there

For most people by far - floss. Toothpicks are good only for a specific gum condition, otherwise the risk of gum damage is high.
Floss does a FAR better job of cleaning between the teeth. Yeah, it's a hard habit to get into, but once you get that habit, you'll realize that your teeth just don't feel clean until you do floss.
Saw the floss, back & forth, to slip it down between the teeth, don't snap it through - that'll cut the gums, make them bleed & sensitive. The sawing motion also scrubs the teeth cleaner.
Avoid the cheap J&J brand floss - shreds if you look at it. They make a teflon floss that's good, or most any other brand.

I prefer chewing gum right after a meal. But out of your choices, I'd say dental floss.

Toothpicks. My teeth are so close together that sometimes when I floss it get's stuck and it hurts to pull it out.

floss for sure, unless you are out to eat then you have to settle with toothpicks (or if you are my brother in law a dollar bill works nicely)
