As far as the quality of the movie is concerned and not its original performance at the box office, because some of what we consider classics now bombed when they were first released(!):
Wizard of Oz, Gone With The Wind, anything with Bob Hope and/or BIng Crosby, any Marx Brothers picture, anything with Humphrey Bogart, anything with Gene Kelly, most of the MGM musicals, Citizen Kane, anything with Jimmy Stewart- especially It's a Wonderful Life and Harvey, the first Pink Panther movie with David Niven and Peter Sellers, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World, The Sting, the first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, the original Star Wars Trilogy, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seatle...
I think I better stop now before I tie up the whole Yahoo Answers website with this reply.

Training day is my Favorite movie, Denzel did an extraordinary job.

Then I would choose The Matrix for bringing out something completely original unlike all the remakes of older movies that come out today. And what do people say when they see things done in slow motion "its like matrix"
