Yep. Every single fridge we've ever owned has been.
My parents bought a new fridge a year or so ago, and my mom said that this one would stay clear of magnets and notes. About a month later, it was covered. My mom put the first stuff up there!

It is. And to make matters worse, most of the magnets were ripped from about-to-be-discarded shower curtain liners. You know, the kind that are supposed to hold the liner to the tub.....but you still end up with water all over the floor? Well, back when i had a tub that used a shower curtain, i always used liners instead of actual curtains.....because: A) they make translucent ones that let in a lot of light; and B) they are a lot cheaper. Anyway, i will *never* throw away a decent magnet.....so when the liners were too nasty to use anymore, i ripped them apart and saved the magnets. And yes, i saved them by putting them on the refrigerator.

Lots and lots...
In fact, our wedding picture is still on the fridge door, but it's held on with tape. Those little magnets weren't available 51 years ago.
