It would depend on the situation, to see the team score a lot of points and move the football, Dan Marino, if it was a season that the games were tight in the fourth quarter with the clock winding down, it would be John Elway.

They are all great players with compelling reasons to be the one. But I have always said that Dan Marino is the most accurate QB that I have seen. In order I would then choose Fouts, Montana, Elway.

Elway without question, people that love Montana forget that he had some of the best recievers in the game. Go ahead and name them its easy. okay now name Elways top recievers earlier in his career. Didn't think so. As someone once said if John Elway plays his career as a 49er , before he retires he holds every NFL QB record there is . If Montana starts his career as a Bronco, he is selling insurance somewhere by his 5th year. Elway had every tool a QB ever needs.

It has never been fair to judge a QB by his teams wins, but I guess people do. Put Marino in SF or Denver, and they win those games that Montana and Elway won.

As it is, I would select Steve Young to lead my team. He is the best I have ever seen in his prime. And he lost some years to being in Tampa and playing behind Montana.

If you wanted to win rings how could you pick anyone besides Montanna. He won 70% of his games started and had 31 4th quarter come from behind victories. He was the quarterback on four victorious Super Bowl teams (only Terry Bradshaw has equaled that mark), beating Marino in '85 and Elway in '90. He was the Super Bowl MVP at least twice.

He is Joe Cool. If you want stats pick Marino. You want championships pick Montanna.
