I don't know about anaheim programs, but GO FOR IT!!! Your never too young to start something your interested in. In fact, many girls and boys start gymnastics at a very young age, even learning the basics and getting familiar with the gym at age 4-5.

No matter if your starting ahead of the curve or behind it, put your heart into it if you find you really enjoy it. You'll learn quickly and your passion will show in your ability!!

Good Luck and maybe I'll see you in the Olympics in the future!!

Most elite gymnasts (professionals) are anywhere from 10-20 years old or so. These girls have been training since they were about two or three! If you're thinking about trying to take it really seriously, let me warn you that it will be difficult. Younger girls are naturally more flexable and stronger.
There are some advantages to starting out at an older age, however. Older girls pick up on technique more quickly and have much better body awareness. So if it's something that you're really into, go for it!
Just don't let your first impression sway you in anyway. Gymnastics is very difficult, and you will need to work very hard to be able to perform! I recently experienced a lower back fracture two years ago and I'm just now trying to come back as a level 8. It was very difficult to gain back my former muscle memory and strength, even with my years of experience!
So if you are willing to try, I'd also recomend starting out as a level 2 or 3 at a local YMCA. Private gyms have much younger girls in those levels so you would probably feel out of place! And if you do start out with many little friends, remember that you will probably pick up on things quicker once you develop flexability and strength. So don't get discouraged!

Wait, ur question says u think u r too old. And your details say u are afraid u r too young. I think neither of these is the problem. If u really want to do it go for it. Gymnastics is one of the best sports out there. However, you will need a least a little flexibility and u may be with younger kids when u start if u r just lerning how to tumble. But do't let that discourage u. Find a friend who maybe wants to tumble too and is at ur same level . U will have more fun that way.

holy crap! you live near anaheim?!?! haha. i live sorta close to there..but not really. anyway, the only gym i can think of is KIPS. (http://www.kipsgymnastics.com/) ....its never too late to start. im pretty sure you know youre not going to the olympics, but you could definately still enjoy the sport. you could always try it out for a month or two, and if you dont like it you can always try something else! if you are really dedicated and such, i bet you could compete. i competed about two years after i started gymnastics (although i did have my backhandspring before i started..my sister taught it to me. haha) but im pretty sure that you could compete before that..because my gym was pretty layed back. (i switched gyms after about 2 years, and competed within like 6 months at being at my new gym). keep in mind that you might be competing with younger kids, but usually they group you by age. (for example-you could be in the 13+ group or something). anyway, good luck. i hope you like it!

so i reread your question and i think i read it wrong the first time...14 isnt young to be starting..some start as early as 2 1/2 (thats what our gym offers)...i started around 7

No, you're definitely not too old to start. It depends on your flexibility, ability, coordination, strength, and balance. Don't let anyone tell you that "you'll never be able to go pro" or "you'll never make it to the olympics" because they're incorrect. You have a chance like everyone else. So I say GO FOR IT!!! Good luck!

your a little old to start if you're looking to do competitions and stuff. but it's definitely not to old to do it. you can still have fun and learn some stuff that will totally impress your friends. go for it.

To old to go pro, but if you want to do it for fun then go for it. But just to warn you you would probably be in a group with 6 year old children.

listen, you are never too young or too old to try anything. i knew kindergardeners who use to be in my class, and i was in third grade, so no, u arnt too young. but i had to quit because we really couldnt afford it anymore, so ive taught myself how to do a lot of the stuff
