I certainly would not base my opinion of any political candidate on their history. I vote for the people that I believe best support my political views. If that person happens to be a porn star, so be it. At least a porn star is honest about how he/she earned their money.

I voted for Angelyne when she ran for mayor of Hollywood (contingent upon the secession vote prevailing). She isn't a porn star that I'm aware of, but she seems to have built a career on oversized breasts and blonde hair, so seems sort of close (when I think about it, at least porn stars have a talent, which Angelyne seems not to).
My feeling about the topic in general is that "people of the streets" - whether porn stars, struggling actors, etc. - probably relate better to the problems that other real people face. However, politics is very political, and their lack of knowledge of and experience with the political machine would most likely be a hindrance. I think the lifelong politicians would resent a nonpolitician and obstruct such a person's agenda.
I must admit, I didn't visit Mimi Miyagi's site, but a porn star running as a Republican seems hypocritical. As you point out, hypocritical politicians are a dime a dozen, but I would normally expect more consistency from a porn star.

I say that if she knows what she's doing, her campaign's legit, and she's focused on the right issues, then sure! It doesn't matter what her job used to be. Why would you judge her for doing something completely legal, while politicians in the white house right now have commited election fraud, shot people, held people against their will with no claim to their guilt, tortured, lied, and attacked an innocent nation? I say give the porn star a break for once. At least she's better than Jeff Ganon (if anyone remembers him)

Depends on their platform. Porn might not be what is considered a moral up and up industry, but the fact is it is a legal industry and therefore the candidate has not broken the law. They are citizens just like any other American and as long as they fit the criteria they should be allowed to run.
Being a porn star does not mean the person is stupid or not qualified. They should be looked at on their platform and how the public feels they would handle the office. How they conduct themselves in debates and how they would represent the populace.
*edit- Checking out her site now. I don't like the fact that she is sporting herself in a tight skimpy outfit on the top of the page. Running for governer of any state should carry a sence of seriousness and she should present herself in a respectable manner. And on top of that.....
A REPUBLICAN!! HOLY COW, HOW BAD ARE THE DEMS GETTING WHEN THEY CAN'T CARRY THE PORN VOTE!!!
Sheesh.........
*edit number 2- Whoa! She is a member of the NRA and seems to be a graduate of law enforcement academy. Makes intelegent statements and is pro-war?
Nevermind, she woud have my vote.

Mentally, I believed she could do better than that influencing the society. In morality wise, a person like her may not have will enough to help the people, it's just merely politicism & fame in her life to get famous.
"Well, empires never last, so is fame."
examples :
- if I asked you, 45-60 years back who is the richest in the world?
- I doubt you'll only know the answer, maybe only after searching the web or history book for answers.
- but then again if I asked, when you were young, who loves & care for you the most? It'll just a few seconds for you to figured tat out.

I don't know if I would support a porn star for a spot in office - just because I don't think it would make for a very good role model. How can you respect someone like that? If she has concluded her porn career and is now a politician, thats a different story.
The fact she is running in Neveda isn't a surprise - they have "sin city" and all the brothels.

Depends on where she stands on the issues. (That sounds sleazy doesn't it?)
She would have to agree with me on EVERYTHING before I would even give her serious consideration. This is because I think that any woman who can become a porn star more than likely has (or had) serious emotional issues, or really bad judgment at some point in her life.
I need to be thoroughly convinced that she has conquered those issues before I allow her to make judgments about the governance of an entire state.

Absolutely, Jenna J. has nothing to hide. Could she or any other Porn Star do any worse than men who claim to be paens of morality and of course are completely morally bankrupt.
And I think they would be tough enough to stand all the mud slinging of a political campaign. After all they have had much worse slung at them.

It would not be the first time that a female porn star has been elected to political office. In Italy "Cicciolina" (Anna Ilona Staller) was elected to Parliament in 1987. She continued to act in porn films while in office.
