Mushrooms are the reproductive bodies of fungi. Organisms that have most of their body underground as network of fibres called paramecium. They feed on broken down organic matter They can live for hundreds of years and are hard to get rid of as only a small amount of paramecium needs to survive. There may be commercial fungicides that work depending on species and climate. Invariably though the fungi are very good for you lawn and
increase good drainage, so why not leave them or collect just the mushrooms. If you can identify them many specied are deicious but be sure as others are toxic.

Mushrooms are a fungus. The fungus is present in almost every lawn. Apparently it has found enough food to grow. You can even catch a fungal foot infection and become infected just by walking on anyone's lawn bare foot. Go to loews or home depot and ask for fungus killer, but be careful not to put in too much. It may kill the grass

I think mushrooms favor a very moist soil with a lot of nutrients. Maybe you're overwatering your lawn? I would check with a nursery to see if maybe the fertilizer you are using is conducive to mushroom growth.

If you have enough to bother you, they may be growing on the decaying root system of a tree that has been cut down. They will eventually run out of nutrients and stop coming back.

Mushrooms are growing because there is some vegetation (wood chips) there and they grow where there is decomposition. Just pull them out and throw them away.

dead matter is usually what funguses(sp) like mushrooms grow on so if you can get rid of the dead stuff the mushrooms should go too.

The fungus lives in your soil. You'll have to bring in new soil if you truly wish them gone.
