my son 16 wants to go to a concert there and I have know Idea what the place is like. Am I crazy to let him go, or is it an okay place?

The Avalon night club is a place that is used as a dance club on the weekends (known as "Avaland"), and they have a large dance floor in the middle with a stage at one end, and booths and bars around the perimiter. They also use this as a venue for many concerts because of the stage at the end of the dance floor.
I have been to several shows here. It is a pretty safe venue. They are pretty strict about underage drinking, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. If I were you, I would be more cautious of the people he goes to the show with than the venue of the show.
