Or would an MBA from a non-ivy be better?

Depends. What type of job are you looking for. People typically study methodology when they want a career in research. An MBA is what you get when you want to work as a manager in a corporation. These are dramatically different fields.

MBA would be WAY better because it fits with more vacant positions and therefore will give you more options.

However the columbia degree would get you a job with a better starting salary

Go the ivy league uni's if you have the opportunity too. Any degree will help you in the job market, and statistics is a good choice too. Statisticians get paid well too.
