I just recently got my nose pierced and have noticed a strange bump forming right under/next to the peircing. it looks kind of like a zit but it doesnt hurt and it is more like a bubble than a bump. I don't know what it is, im guessing its infected, but it doesnt hurt. i've been putting warm salt water compresses on it, but it doesnt seem to be going away...any other suggestions?

IT IS NOT INFECTED

That being said, most nostril piercings experience the infamous "bump." It is usually hypertonic scarring caused by the jewelry moving excessively. Most people that get it see it after a couple of weeks to a month. The sea salt compresses are fine, but you can also just clean your skin as normal and leave it alone completely. Nostril piercings are cartilage and do not like being touched unless it is absolutely necassary.

The bump tends to hang around for anywhere from a week to a couple of months and will go away by the time you have healed.

It is just scar tissue. If you have your ears pierced, feel your earlobe and there will be a little bump there too. If it gets infected, it will be red and hot to the touch. I would recommend cleaning with peroxide to prevent infection, though, it works better than ear cleansing solution in cartilage piercings.

It could just be scar tissue forming around the puncture. I dunno for sure tho, you might want to have it checkedout, just to be safe.
