Emo is short for emotion.... we all have emotion... But...not all depressed.... please help me under stand ...please

Some people have what is called an ectomorphic body type. They are painfully, even freakishly, small boned and skinny. People, being people, find it convenient to associate something they're trying to mock with an unattractive body type. So a convenient way to mock kids who are unhappy with the way things are is to perpetuate this idea that they're all just skinny, snot nosed, whiners - not real men.
You can find these body types in any group, but some groups are set up such that only certain body types feel comfortable being there, and the members of that group have a contempt for other body types that would impress Leni Reifenstahl. Baseball is an example. You will never see a skinny baseball player, even if there exists one who can play better than anyone else. Baseball is about exalting a particular looking kind of man and equating body type with a particular kind of desirable character (strong, macho, brave, good). But other groups aren't as discriminating. If you're not exactly buff, and someone gives you crap about it, show them pics of that guy who was a white supremecist who could never pass the bar no matter how many times he tried and who is in prison now for plotting to kill a judge. I forget his name, but he is an example of a nazi type with a puny body type. Then there is Hitler without his shoulder and arm and body pads (he wore these to make himself look bigger and taller). He was a droopy shouldered nerd in real life.
Anyway, basically ppl. can be real sh*ts in pursuit of their own primitive selfish mean spirited politics.

"Emo" people are people who either:
a. Can't control their emotions, and so choose to show no emotion.
b. Have many emotions and change emotions quickly.
- Depressed people tend to keep quiet but might "snap" very easily, and so are dubbed "emo."

I agree with pam s. It shows their ignorance. Name calling is unkind. If you'd ever been depressed you'd think twice before calling someone an "emo." Shame on those who do that!!

why do some people call ones who have glasses "4 eyes" or people with a lot of pimples "pizza face"? just to try to hurt their feelings. it just shows their ignorance.
