hey. welcome to high school. I'm going to 11 grade.
1st thing is that show no mercy! only the strong survive.
are you a survivor or a weak little animal who gets hunted down by the bigger animal?
BE YOURSELF AND DON'T GET INTO THE PEER PRESSURE.
BE CAREFUL. LOTS OF HORNY GUY WHO JUST WANT SEX.
HAVE CONFIDENCE AND WORK HARD IN SCHOOL.
YOU WORK HARD AND TRY YOUR BEST THEN YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THIS. DON'T DO DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. STAY IN SCHOOL! IT'S OK TO BE SHY BUT RELAX AND TRY TO HAVE A GOOD TIME TOO.
AT SOME TIME IT MAY SEEM THAT THE YEAR IS GOING SLOW BUT NEXT THING YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN 11 GRADE!
THERE WILL BE MEAN AND NICE KIDS.
WORK HARD, STAY IN SCHOOL, DON'T DO DRUGS, BE CAREFUL, AND HAVE FUN. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
OH AND UHH.... BE CAREFUL ON FRIDAY. THERE'S A SCHOOL TRADITION CALLED "FRESHMAN FRIDAY!"
THE HIGHER GRADE WILL GRAB ANY FRESHMAN AND PUT THEM IN A TRASH CAN. SOME SCHOOL DO THIS AND SOME DON'T.

Don't be afraid of upperclassmen (I'm going to be a Senior). We're just stupid. And keep in mind that sophomores are the ones who mostly say, "Stupid Freshman."
Have fun. Don't get too caught up in the honors classes. High school is worthless if you don't have fun while you learn. Remember that you'll change during the four years you're there so let the change happen. Freshman year feels like a million years ago for me. Your friends will also change, and that's ok.
Remember to sleep a lot. Your grades will be better and you will feel better and be happier in the morning. Trust me, doing projects until 2am is not worth it. NOT.
Freshman and sophomore year are the most important years when it comes to grades (the grades literally follow you around for four years). I so wish I had done better freshman year. I wouldn't have had to work my *** off Junior year. If you're going to only try for one year, try during freshman year.
It's not as scary as you think. Most upperclassmen will be sympathetic to you as they were once freshmen.
lol these are all mental notes made during the course of three years of high school for how I COULD have done better. Things that I wish I had known before going into high school.

OK. If your school offers a basketball class for freshmen, then I highly suggest you take it unless you are good enough to play college ball. It helps, trust me. I didn't take the class and got cut from the team. Also highschool is a great place to meet new people, so don't be afraid to talk to the new students. Also, the upperclassmen aren't as mean as they are portrayed in movies.

If the work is too much for you. You can always drop down. There is no shame in it. I dropped out of an AP class cause I couldn't take it. It's going to be hard to find time for basketball with all that homework though. But good luck with try-outs!

try your hardest, and remember, you can always make time for your friends, but you cant make time for a school report that is past due. honers is a big leap, if you normally take honers, it should be no problem. i went into frshman year as an honers studetn, and couldnt keep up with everything. so dont overwhelm yourself with sports and everyhting your first year. stay on the teachers good side, trust me, you get better grades if the teachers like you. dont make them mad, or give them a reason to dislike you. (i know it sounds unfair, but a lot of teachers are that way). goodluck!!

i was a freshmen last year. don't let anyone tell tou its wicked hard or wicked easy. it won't be. you will most likelly be more challenged with honors classes, but if you chose to take them , theyre probably not going to be tooo hard. as for basketball, i dont play, but i play volleyball. my advice on this: dont be self consious to an extreme. pretend its just you and your friend playing in your driveway. dont get pressured into anything, and be yourself. at games, act like its a practice, but with more spirit and heart. if you get nervous, youll most likely mess up- thats wut i did at my 1st vball game. anyway, pretend the bleachers are empty, and your scrimaging your friends. youll b better that way. i wish you the best of luck in all your activies. have fun!

i wuz a freshman last year and i came from another town. all i can tell u is that highschool is fun and to enjoy it. dont believe the hype about being tortured, it's fun. i made new friends even as a shy person just by being involved. I am taking IB courses(which are like AP) and i managed to run track and cross country and have time for parties and my new friends. it's all about time management. your freshman year will pass by really fast so enjoy it!!

Make a schedule for yourself so you don't end up starting your homework at 10 or 11 at night like I did. Make sure you get plenty of sleep, esp. if you're playing a sport. And most importantly - have fun and don't stress out too much.

Thats awesome. Be sure to make friends and have fun. Dont let that whole Senior thing get to you. They are going to call you names like Freshmeat and Fish but thats about it. Its going to be a fun year if you make it.

try to be outgoing.. and follow your conscience about people you meet. not everyone is as nice as they seem at first.
and try to manage your time well. don't procrastinate, cause especially with honors classes, you'll fall behind. i know from experience.
