When I was 11 the only channels I ever watched were Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. But that was a long time ago so I don't know, 11 year old girls today seem so much more "mature."

Your suggestions of Barbie, Pink Power Ranger and Disney Princess are a bit young. She is a 11...2 yrs from being a teenager. I was watching Friends when it first started, or I would find a good movie.
11 is kind of an 'in between' age.

It really depends on the girl. Most are probably into Hillary Duff, Bratz, probably starting to like which ever boyband is hot right now. At 11 you're not exactly little anymore and you're not quite grown, very in-between time. If she is a tomboy (like I was), I's sat some cool Animes geared toward that age group. Avatar maybe? I am assuming you want to get someone a DVD as a present, you can always play safe and get both, something girly, and something not so girly, and see how she reacts. If not, then that's just my two cents.
As for what I liked at 11? I liked New Kids on the Block (boyband), but my fav cartoons were Transformers (original version), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (original version), and My Little Pony. And my fav sitcom was Full House.

I watched Pokemon, Digimon, Dragonball Z, and a couple of other cartoons, mostly filled with action/adventure. As a kid, and now, I've never enjoyed girly stuff, and Hilary Duff would've bored me.
It really depends on the girl - or rather, the kid. Some girls like to watch boy-stuff (like I did), others like girl-stuff (barbie, powerpuff girls, hilary duff), a lot like both, and the rest don't even like TV to begin with. Get to know the kid first. You'd probably figure it out; if you -need- to know, go with unisex stuff (cartoons like Catscratch, for example, and live-actions like The Amanda Show (if you're -really- desperate) or Malcom in the Middle). Ask if you don't know.

At age 11 girls are just starting to dig into there individuality, they will watch what the older kids are supposed to watch. music videos, documentaries. romantic movies and some cartoons still. age 10 to 15 for girls are very awkward years, lots of changes in there social life, new friends, new int rest, i remember my sister really being into the discovery channel and watching the history channel alot...little has changed in 15 years......you get my drift?

well, i liked watching Teen Titans. and if she likes barbie stuff, she could watch Trollz, Bratz, or Winx. my little cousin's gonna be 10, and she LOVES watching those. but if she's 11 then isnt she around 6th grade? maybe she'd like The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, Even Stevens, Phil of the Future, Lizzie Mcquire[or however you spell it], That's So Raven, Sabrina's Secret Life, Zoey 101, Unfabulous, and Drake and Josh.
