I'm definitely for them, for a couple of reasons:
1. Sometimes movie makers deliberately ad a few questionable seens to raise the rating, when they are really not important to the plot.
2. Some people would really like to see a good quality, engaging moving without cuss words and/or sex scenes. Either for themselves or their children.
3. Companies that edit movies are providing a service to people who are interested in their service. Anyone who wants to see the movie in its original form, can just watch the movie! No one gets hurt, and more people get to benefit. It opens the movie up to wider audiences.

I am against the editing of films that I am either to be renting or purchasing, such as a film at Blockbuster. It is my choice as an adult to view the film if it is R-rated or if it is PG-13 for anyone that is old enough to view them. It is up to the stores or companies to monitor/enforce the ages of the purchaser or renter, but not to edit the film.
The only exception in editing a film that is R rated or PG-13 is a film that is being played on the screen of an Airplane, only then, since the movie is visually available to all ages it should be edited
If people have problems with cursing and nudity wait for it to come out as the movie of the week on network television.

The movie belongs to the filmmaker. The filmmaker's vision must be preserved. To do otherwise is to violate copyright laws and all tenets of creativity. If someone is against whatever they deem to be objectionable that is fine Their right is not to see the offending movie. If enough people stop attending movies with sex and violence in them, perhaps Hollywood will tone down the movies; However, those companies that edit the movies to a sanitized version alter the filmmaker's copyrighted work and, according to Federal Judge Richard Maatsch (of which I agree), it is downright wrong.

I hate when they edit R movies so they can be PG13. All the best movies are R because they can pretty much do what they want with a movie without having to abide by certain regulations.

They can go ahead and do that..just as long as I can get my unedited versions I'm happy..when it starts being forced on me like the CDs at Wal-Mart then I get mad..funny thing is they still sell R movies at Wal-Mart..go figure..

It is perverted to sell sex as romance. It is like sugar coating the experience. And people talk the way they talk, not the way they ought to talk.
