How does Descartes' logic contributes to modern idea of science?

I don't really see any application of Descartes' philosophy to modern business systems. He was one of the "romantic" thinkers of his day, with unrealistic expectations. Toward the end of his life he became so paranoid that he thought his dog hated him.

However, printing "Cogito, ergo sum" around a corporate logo would probably impress a few people.
