But there must be something why most of the Europeans have some revulsion/disapproval towards Americans..
Perhaps my Math teacher also told that American authors write for the non-American audience because Americans do not read :-/

The reason why I put this question here was that most of my friends, online buddies etc. have kinda disapproval towards Americans and I was curious why. So I do not hate someone just because of his/her country and my Gram lives in the States too.

Many Europeans don't think they're better than Americans, but a few are jealous that Europe has ceased being the political, economic, and cultural center of the world. Jealousy has a way of transforming rational people into fools.

They have a guilty conscience.

France and Germany in particular, although England isn't too far behind.

We bailed all of them out in WWII and then paid to rebuild their countries. France and England now don't have to speak German.

England was broke from the war before we entered (the whole reason behing the Lend-Lease program) and was in danger of collapse.

Of course, we know that we had to handle the German government and military because it's own citizens were incapable of controlling it and keeping it ethical.

Then we had to protect western Europe for years afterwards from Soviet expansion.

On top of this, France and Germany have broken several UN and NATO resolutions on trade and proliferation of weapons technologies since WWII.

This done after we bailed them out. They just need to do things to get their exchange back in, that's all.

Ever noticed the Italians like us better? That's because they hated Mussolini and wanted him out. And after this the Italians have supported us in many ways, althought we've had differences. But the Italians have done more to offset our help to them, as the English have somewhat also. The criticism comes mainly from France and Germany.

Same reason welfare recipients blame everything on the government or society at large. They aren't contributing back into the society or group, so they feel alienated from the group, different, separate -- therefore we are "guilty" for doing things to them.

Basically, they just feel bad about it all. But they make themselves "right" by making the U.S. "wrong". I know, I have several friends overseas in these countries. I've talked with some of them about it.

It all gets real quiet when I bring these points up.

Watch the History Channel more.

May be because americans have to have there noses in the rest of the world,s life,or maybe it's becous american's think you are better than any one else. actually there's a whole lot more but i don't whant to get intoit . PS maybe if you got rid of that fool bush, and tried to help save a few lives instead of war things might be different.

Having visited Europe twice now in my life, I have to say it's because they are. Sure, the grass is greener on the other side, but the people in Spain and Germany were so friendly, open and kind. When I was in Germany there was a whole bunch of U.S. crap on the news. I wanted to hear about what was going on in Germany! It made me mad... And plus Europe is so much older than the U.S., and therefore better developed.

They believe that since the europe has such an old, rich culture. That makes us the not so bright little brother who later in life becomes famous and gives no credit to the bully big brother who he always wanted to get away from anyway.

just because others my not agree or believe in/with the american culture or the things they have done, does not neccessary mean they think they are better...and people do believe not to judge one on sterotypes or by their countries leader, or by their culture, but as a person of themselves...just because there is a war happening does not mean everyone in that particular country agrees with it...and so forth...and blah blah blah...never generalise.

Wrong, they do not think they are better. They do not agree with our arrogance and self appointet protector of the good and the evil. Because we can not keep our noses out of everybodies business. We have to control the world. Would you think any different?
