You will have to download most free games. The only way to get a game to your computer is to download it or install it from a disk of some sort. It is unlikely that stores are going to simply give away games for free.
However, if you are looking for games that have no subscription fee, then Guild Wars may be one you can buy and play with no subscription fee. Beware, though, that you will have to download updates so that you will be using the same software version as everybody else.

Also try mmorpg games (Mass Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), those get very addicting and there fun and most of them are free!!! Ex: mmorpg.com, dofus, runescape, ect. YOUNGER: clubpenguin, neopets, ect. Not every one is interested though.

Go to Pogo.com they have lots of free fun games and you can earn points to be registered in free contests to win prizes. I love Alchemy. That game is so addictive =) Have fun!
