I need help remembering a movie, please help, it's driving me nuts?

Okay this movies is pretty old but not REALLY old,
the scene i remember goes like this:

The guy si a cop and is getting close to retirment and when he goes to the doctors to get a checkup, he needs to give the doctor a urine sample, and when he puts it down on a cart another black bus driver is also doing that,and the bus driver knows he's gonna die or somethin and he switches the names on the samples to make it look like the cop is gonna die, so when the doctor looks at them he tells him that he has a certian amount of days to live, so the cop goes out trying to kill himself in action before he has to retire so that the cops will give his family money since he's gonna die anyway. In the end he finds out that he's really not gonna die, and i don't remember the rest,

Please Help me remember, i wanna watch it, oh and by the way it is a comedy, thanks
