Yes be concerned China always looking in the long term and we are aleways looking for cheap crap to buy. It will effect us badly someday unless we can get the Chinese government to implement steps to strenghten their currency. That would raise prices for chinese goods here and help shrink the deficit big time. We are trying to get them to do this now but not much response from them as of yet.

You know, Republicans are supposed to be good at this whole big business thing, but apparently the ones we have in office didn't take basic economics or accounting. You are right, 14.5 Billion (with a capital B) is a horrible deal for the U.S. and I'm afraid to see what the future holds at the rate we're going.
As far as products that used to be 'made to last', well unfortunately in a capitalist society, we need things to fall apart quickly so we can pour more money into the markets to replace them.

You should have been concerned back when you were in the voting machine. I take that back as neither candidate would have made much difference along this line. You had candidates speaking out on this subject back in the primaries but few of the voters listened. Voters are just stupid and they deserve what they get.

It's retarded, there are billions of Indian farmers barely surviving making $0 profit.. We should set up factories in India and let a democratic nation profit from us at the least.

We aren't giving it to them, we're spending it on crap. Some of that money was yours. It is not a good deal for the US.
The budget deficit has nothing (theoretically) to do with the trade deficit.

Nice horse. We will all be riding those around again when China surpasses us in fuel consumption, driving up prices so high we can't afford to drive.

It seems we never learn, yes we should be very concerned, I think the statute with the scales depicting blind justice could very well apply to the our over generous spending, because its done blindly, and is sooo off balance.
