A movie needs to have a good story, it does not always have to be an original concept, but a story that hold s me and captures me. The Characters need to be interesting enough to care about or at least to want to know or try to figure out. Witty Writing helps to keep these characters alive and bring life into them. A movie is more interesting when it is unpredictable, however predictability does not always make a bad film, but I need it because if is predictable then I lose interest. Great acting is not so important, there can be great acting but a movie can still be boring as hell, conveying emotion so well cannot save a bad plot. I love suspense and comedy so those are important, I love foreign films because they seem to master the craft or originality and not conforming to what the audience desires, but to what the story desires, thus more interesting films.

The plot is a definite #1, it has to be realistic (I'm not into sci-fi) If it's a period film than the costuming, behaviors, and mannerisms have to be accurate to that period. The Acting MUST be good it could make or break a movie. Sex is totally out!!! It was so much nicer back in the good old days when they alluded to such things, the bedroom was never meant to be looked in on. a great film Must have some twists that are totally unforeseen, but they have to fit. comedy, suspense, and romance just depend on the genera, i prefer for the film to have all three elements, but one could go by and be great w/o one of them. Lighting and music are key, they influence the mood of a scene and enhance the viewers feelings. The sets and landscape also.... i could go on and on. if u want to talk more about such just contact me and we'll talk.
God Bless!!!

Originality! I am so tired of the same boring plot for just about every movie out these days!!! Some dumb *** college kids doing something stupid. Someone falls and hurts their ankle/leg. The minority getting killed right away. Horror movies are more about dissecting the human body in creative ways instead of being scary. They are just gross!

I like movies that seem inexorable: poetically, pyrotechnically, in terms of timeline.

They should also show signs of care: choice of setting, subtle beauty, not too jarring.

Part of this is having a cohesive world, whether it is imaginary or based on the contemporary. Any unpredictability should follow a train of thought.

Feeling good at the end. I like endings that make me think and of course, tie everything up neatly - because it rarely happens in life.

I like unconventional movies.

Different from the standered good/evil, love/hate, happy/sad, bloody/nude...

And any movie, that doesn't have a "happy" ending.
