i'm not sure if they are braxton hicks contractions?

Is this your first child? Braxton Hicks and real contractions feel very similar. But, the Braxton HIcks are much less mild. And, yes, during both contractions your stomach hardens. If they get bad enough that you have trouble talking during them, or if you can time them and they are getting closer, you should get checked out! Congrats and good luck!

braxton hicks you have a contraction you will know it or it could be baby balling up
