The quarter cost 7.5 cents to make and has $0.0559687 worth of metals in it.

Only the penny and nickel cost more to make then it's face value.

I do not know about the quarter, but I do know that it takes more than one cent to produce a penny, the same for a nickel.

Less than 25 cents.

Although, with nickles, they cost more to make than 5 cents.

Since it costs more to mint a penny than one cent,
maybe we should do away with pennys....they are
just a nuisance anyway.
