No one has doubts about Zidane being a great player!
Maybe you can search for some videos about Zidane' behavior too.
From CNN Sport:
"...Zidane's red card was anything but unusual. He was sent off 14 times in his career at the club and international level.
At the 1998 World Cup, he stomped on a Saudi Arabian opponent. Sitting out a two-match ban, he came back to score two goals against Brazil in the final.
Five years ago with Juventus, he head-butted an opponent in a Champions League match against Hamburger SV after being tackled from behind (5 games suspension)..."

Wow. I have been reading all these threads about the final and what happened between Zidane and Materazzi, and all I can say is wow. I didn't realize how many ignorant people there were that could actually use a computer. First of all, I doubt Materazzi said anything about Zidane being a terrorist, but I don't doubt that was trash talking on both sides. As great as Zidane has always been, he is no angel either. He has head butted and stomped on people before in games and been thrown out. But, this I did not expect because I thought he had more conviction than this. Second, AND MORE IMPORTANT, does it make it ok to lash out at someone unexpectedly like that regardless of what was said. The fact that so many people are understanding of what he did is mind boggling. There is no excuse. Does it make it understandable for religious extremists to bomb Paris if Zidane call them terrorists? What a joke this has become.

Considering that he has being interferred with and held by the Italians and the ref called a terrible game. Almost like he was paid off and then to have some putz bad mouth you after just holding you and grabbing your jersey. I don't blame him at all. You can tell by how the Italian reacted or OVERreacted that it was set up to make Zidane react to the comments. Zidane is not a hooligan he is a soccer superstar. Nor does he come from a team or a league that is rift with cheating and payoffs. Italy doesn't have anyone on their roster as good as him so they had to take him out.
PS - I agree with Kaizer Sose. Well said brother.

Hi..I am not hating Zidane.....This video gave me the goosebumps,http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/8011_1740549,00160126.htm... I was so happy when France beat Brazil...Zidane has not lost anything that he had before playing the Italians...His reputation is to strong for a mindless butt in the chest..too many people do and will always see Zidane as a great player....something extra is Frank Ribery wow what a player...coming from a 3rd division team in France and to be pulled to play the world cup, that is also amazing...Go France!!!

Zidane did what he did because he was insulted in a very bad way!!! FIFA is researching the nature of insult from this Italy player, apparently it was a racist one. I would prefer to not say what he could of said because it is about a very delicate topic for the Americans...ok I will tell it
This italy guy (whose name I do not remember now) insulted Zidane Family saying: family of terrorists...

Thank you for sharing that - it was truly beautiful and should put an end to questions of whether he deserved the Golden Ball. Here's Materazzi - http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/Materazzi/video/38919 Tell me you don't think he doesn't bring problems on himself.
