I have been giving money to aid the poor for 20 years..and guess what I am broke and they are worse off now than ever...it is time for these celebrity clowns to get to the back of the bus and let some people who actually get things done have a voice....

I fully agree... you rock!

What's so special about these celebrities, anyway? They earn obsene amounts of money they don't deserve, they go around wasting million on dollars on superfluous stuff like yatchs, jewlery or clothing and when they decide to finally pull their heads out of their bubbles to hand out a minimun percentage of their enourmous profits or they decide to throw a "charity" concert that deep-down is only meant to sell the DVDs afterwards, are we supposed to reward them?
The real heroes are not on tv. The doctors, teachers, firemen, scientists, etc that risk and devote their lives to help others for some minimum income are the ones that should be rewarded by society, not the lazy singers, football players, or daughters-of-hotel-CEOs.

People like Angelina Jolie, who actually dedicates her life to it, and travels to the countries she wants to help, and talks to their people, I can respect a lot.
But Bono is not the case. I specially hate him because he doesn't actually do anything to change things, he just preaches about charity and then praises western politicians when they in fact impose trade concessions and conditions on the African countries they "donate" money too. (essentially hurting the african economies even more with pro-multinational-corporation free-trade reforms and giving money to corrupt dicatorships).
He's extremely arrogant, as well. When he gives up his private jet, he can talk to me of charity, equality, justice and environmentalism. Until then, I'll consider him a hypocrite.

I do not think you should care about what Bono thinks because I do not think his plans and ideas are going to work until we experience a complete overthrow of the whole System. I am referring to the System that leaves certain individuals with way too much money while the majority of people have to scrape to make ends meet. I wonder why the multimillionaire rock stars do not seem to see themselves and the deals that they cut through the System, through the Freemasons and other types of "stonecutters", as part of the problem. It sounds hypocritical.

I think they need an outlet for their immense guilt for being showered with money and celebrity, all the while knowing that when all the hype is gone, they will return to being an average Joe like you and me.

If their resentment of fame and fortune and/or their fear of being forgotten brings about a positive change to the weakest among us, then who am I to argue? Bono isn't nearly as annoying as most of the self-righteous hypocrites in entertainment, so more power to him.

Bono is on here to see if people will agree with his no brain policy. I found it surprising how many people agree with Bono and al gore. I guess the brainwash is working.

No one has to listen to him. But at least he is trying to use his influence for good.
