Yes. If the resident is traveling, having those flyers on the door for more than a day or so sends a clear signal to criminals that nobody is home. It's an open invitation for a home invasion. In fact, police departments frown on this type of marketing tactic for that very reason. I know the Dallas PD issues citations to those caught in the act. If I'm interested in getting a maid service, I'll look it up in the Yellow Pages and compare.

Flyers very quickly become trash, and who wants to hire a maid service that litters in the building? Think about other alternatives for getting the word out rather than alienating your potential customer base.

Post the flyers in supermarkets, leave in stores (asking manager first), post online classified on craigslist, buy bite the bullet and actual place some paid advertisements in local papers or the yellowpages.

Depends on the neighborhood. When living in Chicago, more than one of these ******* was in extreme danger of getting himself shot, because he thought it would be a good idea to make his rounds at 2 am. I'm usually awake at that hour and I'm always armed.
