how can i get into a commercial trash compactor safely, if possible?

80% of the places around here have closed compactors, which really sucks!

Most commercial trash compactors have a safety interlock on the access door which cuts power to the crushing mechanism. To be sure you can enter safely follow OSHA standard 29-1910.147 for locking and tagging out all hazardous energy sources.
