Good God man, you want me to pick just ONE?? *lol* :)

I can't in good conscience do that. We have four big problems and if any one of them are NOT solved we are TOAST as a species.

--Our CEO Class, our would-be Fu Manchu Dictators--Big Oil and Bigger Banking at their head, are obesssed with leading all of Western Civilization into ruin, so they can take all the money out of the American system and run to China, while the whole nation goes to Rot and Ruin...

Think it isn't so? Look at New Orleans, post-Katrina. That is the Beta Test for the Future....that is what your CEO Plantationistas want to have OUR WHOLE NATION, if not the Whole World, become...that poor, that desperate, that violent, that ignorant, that weak and that helpless on a *learned* level.

And the only solution to that one is the one America will not take: Amending the Constitution so that Corporations are NO LONGER legal persons, and can have their charters revoked *at will for any and all reasons by the citizens they ROUTINELY and flagrantly SCREW OVER*.

--Our Earth is the Titanic, and we have ZERO LIFEBOATS.

Really, and that vacuum of space, once you factor the Cosmic Rays that exist beyound the Moon's orbit, is a whole order of magnitude or three more *impossible* to survive than the North Atlantic.

Global Warming, contamination of food, water and air, Genetically Modified foods...PFOAs in the bloodstream of every LAST American courtesy of microwaveable popcorn (Search http://www.sciencenews.org/ )...pthalates rendering unborn boys half-feminized in the womb (search the same site mentioned above).....people *attacking others* for not using SUVs and for trying to be responsible with motor scooters and hybrids....do you really want me going on??

Our only solutions are: a) we dedicate at least HALF of our total economies worldwide to fixing the damage we have done to our world in the past 300 years time, and b) we dedicate the other HALF to doing all we can to get *everybody* ready for and physically evolved to (as much as possible) our Hostile New World.

--We now have in the Developed World the third generation of youth in a *row* who has less hope for the future than their parents did. Less of a place in society, less reason to try, less reason to be law-abiding and to fit in to a society that rejects them.

Combine this with some of the impending eco-system failures above, and you have a recipie for social chaos in the oven, literally. In this respect the Algerian youth of France are the canaries in the coal mine, the ones who react first because their faith makes them over-sensitive. What happens when kids out in the suburbs of America realize they have nothing to look forward to but a life of poverty, debt, and a ruined planet? It is one thing when France burns (they're French!) or when Los Angeles or New Orleans burns (they're hoodlums/gangsta/African-Americans...).

It is another thing entirely when you hit the interstate and find *dozens of cities and smaller towns all up and down the highway burning* for the exact same reason. We have at most a decade before our youth get *that damn bitter* and *that damn desperate* all over. Our public schools already act more like prisons than schools courtesy of one school shooting (and weak, pathetic police response) too many....

--Religious Fundamentalism, and Fanaticism. Believe me when I say this *was* going to be my first candidate, and my highest priority. We now have in place at least four major worldwide faiths that are *held hostage* by their radical, geo-political, Apocalyptic branches (Evangelical Christianity, Wahabbi Islam, Rammist Hinduism, and Zionist Judaism). We have more people, poor, bitter and desperate, willing to become suicide bombers down to the last man, woman, child and family pet, all in the name of their "loving peaceful God".

Quite frankly, this is one of those things that I don't think CAN be solved. We can't solve the "youth problem" without criminalizing our own children, and likewise, we don't seem to have the will to actually *crack down* with maximum prejudice on the fanatics and the wannabe-sheep among us and just tell them, flat-out, "HELL NO, you are NOT going to bring about the end of days, we don't CARE what YOUR 'good book' dictates, you are NOT going to butcher us all in the name of YOUR so-called faith. Bite me and GET OVER BEING IN A CIVILIZATION ALREADY!!"

Nope, it doesn't seem we have the will to nuke Mecca and actually SHUT the Wahabbi Menace the hell up, because then folks would say we are making war on religion, when what we are actually doing is putting down the ones that have WILLFULLY turned their religion into a SICKNESS with which they seek to DESTROY THE WORLD.

Ok, ok, sorry for the shouting. :( It just makes me bitter and angry to see that we are all going to hell in a handbasket and that it will all happen before I even GET a fair chance to get my life together....

Interesting question... I am going to say that it is selfishness people do not care about others as a whole the person that said capitalism is the fault for poverty is wrong. Ask people in the east bloc if they want to move and you will get a resounding yes. The reason we have poverty, because people don't care about other people they want to have tax cuts and abandon the poor so they can get a bigger tv. Instead of cutting taxes we need to cut stupid government programs and use our funds for helping the impoverished and to save the planet we are living on whether or not you believe in global warming you could at least admit that we don't treat the other well enough for it to last very long. If all humans looked out for each other we wouldn't have some the problems that we have. Communism fails as a whole because their is little insentive to work hard and come up with great ideas if you get the same as the lazy guy that works at Mc Donalds every once and a while. (they get my order wrong all the time those jerks!).

The melting of the glaciers. Glaciers in North America (from Alaska to Greenland) are melting at a rate 40 times faster than they were in 1985. As a result, the gulf stream (which runs between Europe and North America) may come to a hault and immediately end one of the Earths major natural cooling mechanism.

At the same time Russia and Scandinavia will see a higher flow along rivers which will eventually turn climates along the entire Northern Hemisphere to a "Ice Age". Meanwhile, the southern hemisphere will see a major increase in temperatures causing increased risks of wildfires, heat exhaustion, and unhealthy conditions for plant life. The entire planet will have an thermally unbalanced climate within a century. Ecosystems will dissolve and all forms of life will need to find new ways to survive, some will, some won'ts ... humans included.

While this may not seem like an immediate issue or a believable situation, it certainly is. If something causes a burst in a natural glacial-dam in Greenland the gulf stream will come to an immediate hault - as soon as today. The effects of the cooling/warming effects of the gulf stream will take no longer than a year to be felt. The Earth will lose one of its major climate control mechanisms and every storm (blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.) will be intensified.

We are going to self-destruct. We've built tons of weapons, made our people train for battle, and we've all been wary of the cultural practices and ideals of other countries. What should be done? I don't know...destroy all the weapons, make peace treaties around the world and stop interfering in other people's business unless it's on a rescue mission from natural disasters...it would save a whole lot more money. All we'd have to worry about would be trading...NO religious or political ideals should be involved in the decision to trade goods...haggling is what it would come down to. Peace and trade agreements for all...how simple a concept and how difficult a practice for modern leaders to attempt.

Today, it's got to be medications (antidepressants and others)! 80 to 100 years ago when humans did not have a choice to have anxiety or depression, they didn't. Now, almost every doctor prescribes meds because they do not know what's up either. We should all stop taking the crap that is making us crazy, paranoid and unbalanced; the doctors and big pill factories will go broke. Then all the buildings will be destroyed and we
will have land again to raise good meat, good food and enjoy life again. That's it....

The biggest problem human has and has ever had is separating senses from the reason. Only today this problem is growing, because everything we see is commercial and does not help us to separate both things senses just make us slaves of life not of reality, we all should know how te difference sensitive from reasonable.

Clearly, it is an appalling lack of education - as can be seen by more than half the questions and answers on this site. I am not talking content here! I am referring to spelling, grammar and mechanics. In order to solve any problems, humans need to be able to communicate effectively.

racial disparity. the divide continues to plague humanity. when we accept that there is only one race the human race and stop all the in fighting we can solve any and all other problems before us. because we do not know from which branch of humanity, if all are left to prosper will come the cure for cancer and aids or alternative to fossil fuels, over population, the cure for obesity, you name the problem if ALL are allowed to thrive we ALLl benefit.

Everyone want to be or look like a super model.

We need to except ourselves and love are selve for the way we have been blessed to look.

Then focus that energy we direct to clothes, diets, hair stylist, gyms, creams & make up on something worth while like world hungry.

Same as it's always been...getting along with each other...there's not a whole lot that can be done because there will always be people who have to poke their noses into others business and cause problems.
