For those wing-nuts in the crowd here, why not look up the role the CIA played in the war the USSR started when it took over Afghanistan.
Ever wonder how those dirt poor, beaten up "rebels" kicked the Russian's butts? Think that weaponry and that training just came falling out of the sky to assist them? Just how did Osama get to be such a master of planning attacks?
The US made the Afghan resistance a viable guerrilla fighting force, then the US abandoned them after the Russians withdrew.

I'm tired of people mindlessly bashing the USA. We live in the greatest country in the world. We consistently defend and support human rights on a global scale. Our contributions alone fund 22% of the UN and we feed over 100 million people in Third World nations every year. Yet people still constantly bash this country.
We are not responsible for the Taliban. We joined the rest of the world in March 2001 when the Taliban destroyed two statues of Buddha. We have also repeatedly requested sanctions against the regime (see UNSC Resolution 1267 from November 1999 for just one example).
If you want to trash this country back up your argument with some facts rather than making uninformed rants. Better yet, just show a little appreciation for the all the good the USA does in the world.

NO we didn't 'make' the Taliban we supported and supplied the mujahadeen in the fight against the Soviet Union when the invaded and took over Afganistan. THe Taliban rose as a result of a civil war because of the power vacuum created when the Soviets left. War lords and the Islamic extremeist and the government left by the Soviets fought and the Taliban eventually won. Whether it was because of weapons sold or given to one side or the other does not excuse their behavior after gaining power ei supporting terrorism, and the implementation of draconian Shaia laws and Bin Ladins millions helped them too. SO don't lay all the blame on the US. Other countries also helped in the fight against the Soviets too.

No, we merely put Saddam in power to defeat the Russians where were controling the area.
We armed him and his rebels and freedom fighters at the time to liberate the nation.
But of course he decided to turn his back on us once he was in power, So we created the Iraq government we just took out of power, The Taliban is a terrorist religious group that operate in several countries including Iraq.
Please understand the real facts before you make yourself look foolish.
Do you hate the USA so bad you have to make up stories about them?

We, The USA, have an unfortunate history of using people(countries) as our allies, arming them, training them and then having them turn on us. It does us no good and usually makes people hate us. Maybe it is time for us to stop trying to police the world and go back to taking care of our own first. Stay in the UN and don't go into any country unless the UN agrees, and as part of the UN team. We need to step back. Maybe our next President should practice some isolationism until we take care of our own people and problems.

You don't know anything about Afghanistan. Pakistan provided for the Taliban. Real Americans backed Masood and Doston. If you had a clue and the knowledge you would know why.

· Over 1,000,000 people were killed in Afghanistan’s civil war from 1979 to 1992, in which the US strongly supported the Moujahedeen, the most violent and sadistic of the forces. (This also set the stage for the CIA-backed Taliban to attain power.)

Yes, I know it. You (USA)also trained and created Saddam Hussein and the Bush family did business with Osama bin Laden. The US also put into place Pinochet(Chile) and another of other demons in other countries.

Just stop it. Go to a damn Library and do some work to better yourself.
Years ago I brought a friend to a party. At that party he made some racial comments. I threw him out myself then kicked his (well deserving) butt. We all have friends we support that let us down. Does that mean WE are just as bad as the choices they make? NO it doesn't so I implore you....What is your point!

We never created them, they created themselves. A bunch of idiots got together and said "hey, why don't we become terrorists?" and then it began.
