try vinegar or rubbing alcohol..... it will cool it down for awhile. Keep your shoulders lotioned to prevent over drying and cracking.

Ok I'm in the same boat. I actually have Eucirin which is good for sunburns. It's time to get Aloe Vera rrom Trader Joes it really works. I've had a bad bout of Sunburn and the Aloe Vera with cold baths for 20 minutes is good. Also be sure to take Motrin or Tylenol to ease the pain or fever. Rest in a cool room and don't expose yourself to the sun. The skin may peel and this is normal if it itches use Aloe Vera.

And of course use sunscreen to prevent burns. If you are outside wear a tee-shirt. Even a Nike Sports shirt that breaths can be worn in the water since it dries quicker than cotton.

Good luck

BTW You need to plead with your mother to go to the store since suffering in pain is no fun. It's important that you treat this right away snce you don't want to waste another summer day in pain.

I heard that Neutrogena face wash and vinegar work good for dulling the pain of sunburn. With the Neutrogena, put it on and don't wash it off. It should work I've heard. With the vinegar, it works but only while it is on your skin.

I haven't tried either of these, but I've heard that they work. Good luck and next time be more careful about being in the sun because about two years ago, I went swimming and didn't put on any sunscreen and was in the water for most of the time and it was cloudy out (and the uv's are worse when it's cloudy) and I ended up with second degree burns and couldn't wear a bra for a week.

Noxzema is what works best for me. Some people are allergic to it, though. I am hoping it does not fail me right now as I am not red I am maroon.
