I'm not so sure this makes Bono a hypocrite. More like mistaken about a few things. His attitude is basically that resources are only held in trust by the wealthy to be used responsibly for the good of all. While his behavior shows that the wealthy are simply much more important and powerful than everyone else and resources are prioritized toward their minor needs over the major needs of others.

The morality of this is debateable. It is, HIS money. He may do whatever he wishes with it. However, to spend it frivolously is a bit callous. Money is POWER. And it is always a good idea to wield power with wisdom and compassion. If you do, you can bend the world to your will, usually to an extreme good. If you don't, it has a way of destroying you.

Was what he did hypocrisy? Does he hold in his heart an evil agenda contrary to his stated enlightened purpose? The man has done tremendous good. The answer is most probably no. But, he did act foolishly. He's not a normal person like you and me. Foolishness in behavior can have harsh consequences. I hope he has an understanding of that.

Why are all the righties on here picking on Bono, when he is such a friend of your favorite Bushie?

Besides, he donated more than $20 million to charities over his career. So keeping some for himself isn't hypocritical.

Why do you guys complain about a wealthy person who gives some of their wealth? Is giving it all the only thing one can do to be credible? If that's the case then no one should give anything and we should just let the world fall to ****.

No, Through his hard work and luck he has become successful. He has every right to enjoy that success. For you to negate the good he has and continues to do is a shame.
When was the last time you got off your lazy *** to actually help anyone else...paying taxes (involuntarily I might add) does not make you different and in fact makes YOU a hypocrite
