they usually go by the first due date because it is most accurate. This shows that your baby is growing rapidly.

Early ultrasounds are more reliable than those done later in pregnancy. All babies in the first trimester are about the same size and at the same stage of development but later in pregnancy some babies are bigger than others. All newborns are not the same weight some are 6 pounds and some are 9 this is the reason. Just because your baby appears to be bigger in size it does not mean his/her organ development is a week a head of schedule. If your dates are certain with your period and they match up with the first ultrasound , your doctor will most likely go by the original date. IF there is a big disagreement of dates an amniocentesis may be done to determine if the babies lungs are ready before inducing . You may also want to be rescreened for gestational diabetes , this condition if uncontroled can cause a larger baby.

According to my Doc the first ultrasound is the most accurate because all fetuses are the same size at that point. Sept. 23 is a great day by the way (my bday and the first day of Libra) so don't rush things :)

I would go by the early sonogram..here's why...up until 12 weeks babies are generally a uniform size..so the sonogram at 2 months would only take the gestational age into account..as the baby has developed nutrition, heriditary, etc..have taken account into the babies size....should you go over due the doctor will however take all of the sonograms into account when deciding whether or not to induce....

I had a similar problem. Be prepared on Sept 1st & don't be surprised if you give birth in Oct! The "experts" don't know. You & your baby will know when it is time to come into the world!

the earlier the ultrasound, the more accurate it is in telling your due date. early on in pregnancy most all babies look the same so it is easier to tell how far along they are. when you get further in your pregnancy you have big babies, small babies, tall babies, etc, so it is harder to tell. so i would say your due date is sept 23rd. congrats.

Somewhere between the 5 and the 15th. lol. But babies usually make up their own minds as to when they are due.
