The MR series was an off road only two stroke that was in production from...oh man...'76 ~78/79 maybe? The MT was essentially the same basic bike in the same era but was street legal. Some folks called those enduros, but really they were some of the first dual sports as we call them today.
The XL/XR series have always been four strokes.

i could desire to be lacking the element however the RC174 grow to be outfitted so as that it may desire to compete against the two strokes of the different producers. Honda have been vehemently against 2-strokes who prefer to create jewel-like beauties.
