both, however, it seems to be used primarily by young adults and music groups, and other people trying to "sell" something. I, personally would not use it as a good place to meet people but it is a good place to keep up with your friends, family, etc, who live in different places. and yes many people use it as a popularity contest, e.g. trying to get as many friends as possible without regard to who they are adding to their myspace profile. if you have not tried it i would, it can be interesting.........just see what you think. also you do often meet people whether you like it or not.

Its a popularity contest. Most people on MYspace add you to their friends list and never talk to you again. For many people, MYSPACE is just something to do when their bored. I don't believe many relationships worthwile ever begin there. If you wanna meet people, I'd opt for Yahoo 360.

Myspace is full of wack jobs kinda like here. Sure you will meet people, but do you wanna? Yes it is definately a contest, who can have the most friends on their list. It's a mission to beat Tom.

You can meet people there, but I don't recommend it. It is kind of a popularity contest between the 14 year olds.

It's a good place to find lost/current friends. That's about it. Otherwise it's a popularity contest and not good for meeting real people you'd like to know in real life. It's best for keeping in touch with people you already know.

Actually neither, ur not popular if u really havent met any of ur "friends" and u cant meet ppl cuz no one tells the whole truth bout themselves on myspace, its a pretty ****** up website if u ask me

The only real useful thing I've gotten from MySpace is that I was able to reconnect with friends from high school that I had lost track of.

only people who have no lives and no friends in real life have like a million friends on myspace but there is many people who r on myspace to meet people,start relationships,or networking also you could find old friends 4rm highskool or even middle skool

Myspace is good to be in touch with friends and family and to send them all a message at once in a bulleting instead of writing their name and e-mail address.

I think myspae is a cute way to keep up with people you already know or find people you've already met.
I dont know so mcuh about meeting anybody new.
