Well, ..... It sounds like your asking:
Is it better to not owe any money
or
To owe money that is paid back slowly over a long period.
I prefer not to owe money. But you have to look at the interest rates, tax writeoff's, and your personal money situation. Is paying it off in advance going to leave you short later on?

Having no morgage, obviously. Also over an extended period of time, you just end up with a greater amount of interest to pay.
