use grey eye shadow over the whole lid, liquid eyeliner in navy blue, then black pencil eye liner only in the corner of the eye (make a V) then smudge that a little with a q-tip. Highlight the under the brow with a white eye showder (widens the eye) apply mascara lightly. Use a kabuki brush and lightly sweep the whole eye great for blending. Your eyes will look very sexy

There are a lot of good answers here.

But, the secret is blending! There should not be a definite line between colors! Also, do not pile on the liner and mascara.

Smudge the liner along the lash line. Very carefully. You don't want to look like you've been in a fight! With all of these products on, go easy on the mascara.

I have tan skin and dark hair. I usually give my lashes a once over with a clear mascara or apply a very thin coat of black mascara. Too much, it will make your eyes look smaller.

A great tip is investing in a white eye pencil. (Tyra Banks mentioned this yesterday on her show) I have been doing this for years. CAREFULLY! line the inside of you lids (just the bottom lid) with the white pencil. Suddenly your eyes look fresher and clearer! (I do this after a long night)

Invest in Allure magazine! It has oodles of great tips in it!

Ingredients for powerfully sexy eye makeup:

* Black eyeliner - pencil. Ensure that it is sharp.
* Black eyeliner - brush. The thinner the liquid eyeliner is the better.
* Eye shadow brush. Thin stumpy bristles are best to maintain control.
* Dark eye shadow. Irridescent rather than flat matt (too hard), or shiny (too messy).
* Highlight shimmer for under the eyebrow. Avoid garish looking ‘high glitter’.
* A good eyebrow pencil. Try to select the most natural shade for you as possible.
* Eyelash curlers.
* Black mascara. Obviously choose a quality brand to avoid clumping and ‘spider eyes’.

Step-by-step instructions for smoky cat eyes:

Apply your foundation, under eye concealer and powder.
Using your black eyeliner pencil, start from the front corner of your eyelid. Draw a soft smudge line to the end of your lash line.
Use your eyeshadow brush to apply the dark eye shadow over the top of the smudged line for a soft smoky look. Ensure that the edges are neatly blended.
Then take the brush eyeliner and apply as close to your lashes as you can on the top lid only. Make the line as thick and pronounced as you wish, but make sure that the line is thickest at the outer corner, and thinner as you go inward.
Apply another smoky coat of eye shadow with the brush to blend the harsh edges.
Subtly blend your darker eye shadow up from your lashes to your eye crease. Then apply a shimmery highlight in white or cream under the outside corner of your eyebrow.
Use your eyebrow pencil to make your eyebrow curve more pronounced.
Curl your eyelashes, then apply thin coats of mascara, building the layers up gradually to avoid clumping.
Congratualations! You have achieved guaranteed show stopping impact! You go girl!

Start with covergirl eye enhancers 3-kit shadows in #130 Curtian Call. Use the shades from darkest to lightest from eyelash line to eyebrow. Blend each color so when your done you will actually have 5 different shades but you won't be able to tell it will just look smokey.

Then get covergirl liquid pencil in #605 smoke and make a thin line on both the top and botton eyelash line.

To finish it off use covergirl multiplying mascara in #700 Black X2.

When your done you will have the perfect smokey eyes look that you will luv and your friends will want.

Alright honey, as I was wandering around the web for the same answer, I figured I'd stop for a while and figure it out myself. If the eyeliner smudge thing works for you....go for it. It was a disaster for me. What I did was start with a whitish-silver color from my lash line all the way up to my brow. Now you wanna get out your eyeshadow smudge brush. If you dont have one, get it. I got mine last night at Wal-mart for 2 bucks, it's a lifesaver. I used my brush on the lid with black shadow and smudged it up just outside of the lid line. Top it off with black eyeliner, mess around a little bit with some more smudging, and you're good. Practice, have fun. And the great thing about the smudge brush is it still gives you great effects without caking on the shadow, which has always been my problem. I hope I helped. Good luck!

Rim your eyes in a semi-thin line using an eye pencil of black-brown or black. Then take a q-tip and go over the line to smudge it. Start with a thin line and if that is not enough smoky eye look then you can draw a larger line with the pencil and then smudge...good luck!

Use dark brown eye liner and line the upper and lower where the lashes meet the eye, You can use olive green(dark green) dark plum, dark Grey and brown shadow. Also don't forget the eyebrow-darken but not too garish if hair is blond to brown-use medium or dark brown/Black if hair very black and if not again dark brown. You can experiment and smudge the shadow. Have fun, enjoy. and Wow everybody

using the two darkest shades of eyeshadow you have( they have to be dark) blend them both together and apply. If blended well enough, the two colors cancem out each other, creating a smoky grey. (This is from experience).

I apply a thick line of black or charcoal liner to my upper and lower lids. I also apply mascara. I then close my eyes and gently rub where my lashes meet. Open your eyes to fix any crazy smudges and repeat the process if necessary.
